Odaily Planet Daily News: Vitalik Buterin published an analysis on social media distinguishing between “corposlop web” and “sovereign networks.” He defines “corposlop” as a combination of corporate optimization capabilities, seemingly respectable brand images, and undignified behaviors adopted to maximize profits. Vitalik Buterin states that “corposlop” is soulless, trend-following, and a homogenized product that is both evil and clumsy.
He points out that the meaning of “sovereignty” has now expanded, referring not only to avoiding government coercion, but also to protecting digital privacy through cryptography and safeguarding one’s thoughts from corporate psychological warfare aimed at extracting user attention and money.
He calls on developers to build more sovereign tools, such as: privacy-preserving local-first applications, user-controlled social media platforms, financial tools that don’t encourage 50x leverage or sports betting, open-friendly AI tools, and DAOs pursuing unique objectives. He concludes: “Stay sovereign, reject corposlop, Believe in somETHing.”
