Recently, people keep asking me "Isn't on-chain data real-time?"

To put it simply, what you see is the "version" provided by nodes/RPC/indexers.
RPC is busy, nodes are lagging, indexes are still rebuilding, and in the end, it becomes: the transaction was on the chain a long time ago, but your dashboard still shows yesterday;
or the timestamp and labels of the same transaction don't match across different tools.
Recently, those on-chain data tools and labeling systems have been criticized for lagging or being misleading, which doesn't surprise me at all, because the on-chain truth also has to go through several layers of "translation."

If you can only keep one habit: do not rely on just one data source for key addresses/transactions, at least cross-verify once.
