On August 29, 2025, Gate will introduce GUSD—a yield-bearing structured product backed by U.S. Treasuries and other real-world assets (RWA). GUSD brings stable, traditional finance-style interest rates on-chain, enabling users to access U.S. dollar fixed income within familiar crypto scenarios.

What is GUSD?

GUSD is a U.S. dollar-denominated asset that accrues yield over time. Its underlying holdings are high-quality RWAs, such as U.S. Treasuries. All accrued yield is paid out with the principal upon redemption—e.g., mint GUSD with 100 USDT, and if the total yield is 20%, redeem for 120 USDC. There is no need for daily manual claiming, reducing user workload and operational costs.
