Gate News message, April 22 — Google Cloud CEO stated that Gemini will enable Apple to launch a personalized Siri experience in 2026. The new Siri will be powered by Apple’s proprietary Foundation Models while integrating Google’s Gemini technology, following a partnership agreement valued at approximately $1 billion reached last year.
Apple is currently testing a redesigned Siri application within iOS 27 and macOS 27, elevating Siri from a system-level assistant to a chatbot-like interface. The updated version supports both text and voice conversations, featuring conversation history lists, saved chats, search history, and new conversation creation. Siri’s visual interface will be repositioned to the Dynamic Island at the top of the screen, with search prompts displayed as “Search or Ask” and a new “Ask Siri” button.
Apple is expected to formally unveil the new Siri at WWDC 2026, scheduled for June 8.
