Romanian Prime Minister Boloș announced on the evening of the 24th in Bucharest that the Romanian government has approved two emergency decrees related to economic recovery and public administration reform.
At a press conference held that evening, Boloș explained that the emergency decree on economic recovery is an important supplement to the current fiscal framework, aimed at establishing a more robust operational foundation for the national economy and gradually building a long-term mechanism to promote economic growth starting this summer.
Regarding public administration reform, the decree focuses on prominent issues within the central and local administrative systems, including reducing unreasonable expenditures through personnel audits, improving administrative efficiency, clarifying specific measures to support decentralization, simplifying administrative procedures, and providing legal grounds for transferring some central-managed assets to local governments.
At the same time, the decree also strengthens the powers of local governments in urban planning and local tax policies.
Boloș stated that these measures aim to significantly improve Romania’s public administration performance and efficiency in the coming months, providing citizens with better services.
He also revealed that the two decrees received no amendments during the government meeting that day, have been approved by all government departments, and will be officially issued on the 25th. (Xinhua)
