U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carriers frequently experience toilet clogs; 650 toilets are repaired daily.

According to The Wall Street Journal, citing a Navy official, the vacuum sewage system on the USS Ford aircraft carrier frequently malfunctions, requiring nearly daily repairs for about 650 toilets onboard. Additionally, the Indian Economic Times reports that crew members sometimes have to wait over 45 minutes to use the restroom. A crew member’s family member told The Wall Street Journal that the clogging may be caused by someone throwing trash into the toilets on the lower deck. (Xinhua International)
