Before cashing out from Pi Network, you need to complete several essential prerequisites. These steps form the foundation for a secure and efficient cash-out process.
KYC verification is the first required step for Pi Network’s mainnet migration and cash-out. All Pi Network users must complete KYC before migrating to the mainnet and before any cash-out transactions.
To check your KYC status, open the Pi Network app, go to "Pi Browser," and review your progress in the Pi KYC section. If you haven’t submitted your identification documents, such as your ID card or passport, you should upload them immediately.
Migrating Pi to the mainnet is a critical requirement for cashing out. On the main page of the Pi Network app, check whether your Pi Mainnet Wallet shows a balance. If your Pi hasn’t been migrated yet, wait for the official team to open additional migration batches or confirm your KYC completion.
Setting up your mainnet wallet is a vital component of the cash-out process. In the Pi Network app, navigate to the "Wallet" section, create your mainnet wallet, and securely store your mnemonic phrase. To cash out, make sure your Pi is deposited in your mainnet wallet.
Logging in to your Pi Network mainnet wallet is the first step in the cash-out process. Open the Pi Network app and enter Pi Browser. Then access Pi Wallet, enter your mnemonic phrase, and confirm that your mainnet Pi balance is available. Copy your wallet address (Pi Public Key); you’ll need this for upcoming cash-out steps.
Following the mainnet launch, Pi Network’s official team may provide the following cash-out options:
Method 1: Cash Out Through Officially Supported Trading Platforms
If Pi is listed on major trading platforms, log in to your platform account (after completing KYC), go to the "Deposit" page, and select Pi. Copy the Pi deposit address provided by the platform and paste it into your Pi Wallet cash-out address. Enter the cash-out amount and confirm the transaction. Transactions typically require block confirmation time. Once successful, you can sell Pi for USDT or local currency on the platform.
Keep in mind that Pi Network has not yet officially announced which platforms it supports. Monitor official updates closely to avoid scams, and do not trust peer-to-peer transactions, as they carry a high risk of fraud.
Method 2: Use Payments Within the Pi Network Ecosystem
If the Pi Network ecosystem supports Pi payments or exchanges, you can browse official DApps within the Pi App to find merchants or platforms that accept Pi. Select your desired goods or services, pay with your Pi Wallet, and wait for merchant confirmation. The Pi ecosystem is still under development, and its real-world utility is yet to be determined.
If Pi is listed on a trading platform, you can cash out to your bank card. Sell Pi for USDT (or another stablecoin) on the platform, use P2P trading to exchange USDT for local currency, and cash out to your bank card or payment app. Alternatively, use the fiat withdrawal feature on leading trading platforms to transfer directly to your bank account.
Cashing out Pi Network involves multiple stages and requires careful attention to detail. You must first complete KYC and migrate your Pi to the mainnet; otherwise, cash-out is not possible. Wait for official announcements of supported trading platforms before executing any transactions, and avoid peer-to-peer trades to minimize the risk of scams, which peak around the mainnet launch. Finally, consider holding Pi for the long term, as initial mainnet liquidity is low and early cash-out may mean missing out on future potential value growth.
