Gate has confirmed its Q2 2025 on-chain burn of GateToken (GT) is finished. In this quarter, Gate burned 1,922,789.196841 GT (about $39.01 million at current prices), permanently taking those tokens out of circulation. This continues Gate’s deflationary strategy: since GateChain launched, over 180.56 million GT have been burned, cutting the original 300M supply by ~60%. Removing nearly 2 million GT in a single quarter helps reduce sell pressure and support long-term value for GT holders.
To reward the GT community for their support, Gate is running a limited-time GT Airdrop event. A total of 1,500 GT will be shared among participants – up to 13.2 GT per user – on a first-come, first-served basis. The event runs from 2025-07-08 09:00 to 2025-07-19 16:00 UTC. In practice, this means both long-time GT holders and active traders can easily earn free GT. Simply register and complete the required actions (mainly futures trading or staking) to claim your share of GT rewards.
How to Participate in the GT Airdrop
- Register for the Event: Log in to your Gate account and click “Join Now” on the GT Airdrop event page to sign up.
- Complete Trades: After registering, make at least one futures trade (any pair) during the event period. This unlocks your eligibility for the airdrop rewards.
Airdrop Rewards: Holders and Traders Benefit
Gate has structured the airdrop in four parts so different users can benefit. Key rewards include:
- Exclusive Reward for GT Holders: If you hold ≥10 GT in your account by the event’s end, you’ll earn 0.1 GT after registration. New users (those who have never done futures trading before) get double – 0.2 GT – under the same conditions. This sub-event has a 200 GT pool (first-come, first-served).
- Net Holdings Increase Bonus: For every 10 GT net increase in your holdings (ending balance minus starting balance during the event), you’ll be randomly awarded 0.05–0.2 GT. The maximum you can earn from this is 3 GT per user, from a 300 GT pool. Rewards are handed out in descending order of net GT gains until the pool is exhausted. (Net increase is simply how many more GT you hold at the end of the event compared to the start.)
- Futures Trading Volume Rewards: Every 30,000 USDT of cumulative futures trading volume (during the event) earns you a random 0.1–0.5 GT airdrop. You can earn up to 10 GT this way, with a 1,000 GT pool available. These rewards are distributed based on trading volume rank – the earliest/highest-volume traders claim first.
- On-Chain GT Staking Rewards: By staking GT on-chain during the event, you can earn more GT. For each 1,000 GT net increase in your staked GT (end-of-event minus start), you’ll get 0.1–0.5 GT airdrop. The maximum is 10 GT per user from a 1,000 GT pool. Like trading rewards, staking rewards are issued based on staking volume rank (first-come, first-served).
Each of these sub-events runs simultaneously from July 8–19. Remember that all rewards are limited and first-come – the earlier and more active you are (whether by holding, trading, or staking), the more GT you can claim.
