Shiba Inu (SHIB) enters the DAO era, establishing a multi-layer governance structure and a multi-token governance model, and plans to launch a Layer 3 privacy chain and the TREAT token to promote ecosystem upgrades and community co-governance.
The Dawn of the DAO Era
In August 2024, SHIB officially announced its entry into the DAO era, allowing coin holders to directly participate in proposals and voting, achieving true community governance. The DAO structure includes a Charity Council and a Cultural Heritage Council, responsible for the allocation of public welfare resources and the preservation of community culture, strengthening the value of SHIB as a cultural symbol.
Multi-token governance model
The SHIB ecosystem introduces two governance tokens, BONE and LEASH, which provide different governance weights and functions. BONE, as the main governance token, supports community proposal voting; LEASH focuses on decision-making for specific topics and cultural councils, forming a multi-layered and multi-dimensional governance structure.
Layer3 Privacy Chain and TREAT Token
In early 2025, the SHIB team announced the launch of the Layer3 privacy chain and the new token TREAT, which will serve as the core of utility and governance for the ecosystem. TREAT will unlock advanced network features, strengthen the technical foundation of SHIB, and facilitate the ecosystem’s transition from meme culture to mature infrastructure.
Future Outlook
