AI procurement agency Lio completes $30 million Series A funding, led by a16z

PANews March 5 News, AI procurement agency startup Lio announced the completion of a $30 million Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Lio is building virtual procurement teams for large enterprises, handling the entire process from demand submission, inquiry and comparison, supplier negotiations, supplier onboarding, to order placement within ERP, email, and contract systems through natural language requests. a16z states that the current global procurement processes for large enterprises still heavily rely on emails, PDFs, and manual collaboration, with procurement transaction volume linearly linked to workforce size. Enterprises spend hundreds of billions of dollars annually on procurement personnel. Lio aims to break this linear relationship with scalable AI agents, automating traditional backend procurement tasks.
