US Treasury Department Issues Russian Oil Sanctions License, Allowing Crude Oil Delivery and Sales Within Specified Timeframe

Gate News: On March 19, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the issuance of a new general license related to Russia on March 20. The license permits the delivery and sale of Russian crude oil and petroleum products loaded onto ships before March 12. This authorization is valid until 00:01 Eastern Time on April 11, 2026. Although the main terms are consistent with the previously issued license (March 12), the new exemption explicitly excludes transactions involving North Korea, Cuba, and Crimea. The temporary easing of sanctions on Russian oil is part of the Trump administration’s efforts to curb rising energy prices caused by the Middle East conflict.
