According to U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, the temporary tariff exemptions for consumer electronics such as smartphones and computers under the Trump administration are expected to expire soon.

In today's ABC "This Week" program, Lutnick explained that smartphones, laptops, and other key consumer electronics were temporarily exempted from high import tariffs earlier this month, but this exemption will never become permanent.
