The Federal Reserve (FED) Bostic: Expects to cut interest rates once this year.

-
On May 16, Raphael Bostic, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, stated that due to economic uncertainty, he expects the Federal Reserve will only cut interest rates once this year. Bostic noted that the U.S. economic growth rate this year could be between 1% and 0.5%. Despite the slowdown in growth, he does not believe a recession will occur.

-
Bostic also mentioned that the uncertainty of tariff policies has increased the difficulty of economic forecasts, and it may be necessary to withstand inflationary pressures from tariffs. He expects the inflation rate to return to the Federal Reserve's 2% target sometime in early 2027, which is later than his previous expectations.
