Recently, I browsed through AI projects on @KaitoAI. To be honest, if I had to choose one to compare with @Kindred_AI, I would only name @SentientAGI. The two are completely different paths: Sentient leans more towards a laboratory + infrastructure style, aiming to build a complete open AI brain for developers and researchers to use, while Kindred is very life-oriented, directly bringing roles, emotions, and companionship to users, encouraging people to open up and talk, play games, and raise SATO every day.
The advantages are also very clear: Sentient has strong backing, substantial funding, and is bold in its ideas and actions. If the whole system runs smoothly, it could be the next generation of "open-source brain infrastructure." However, the drawbacks are also evident; it feels a bit distant from ordinary users, and for projects of this level, the cycle will definitely be long. If the pace can't keep up, emotions can easily backfire. Kindred's strengths are being user-friendly and enjoyable. From Klara to SATO and various IP collaborations, users genuinely spend hours chatting there, which is rare among similar projects. However, its problem is that the closer it is to emotions and content, the more it tests the team's ability to continuously produce and operate. If the connection isn't handled well, the enthusiasm can drop very quickly.
So my own view is that Sentient is more like betting on how deep and far AI can go, while Kindred is more like betting on whether people are willing to stay with an AI for the long term. One is more infrastructure-oriented, and the other is more experience-oriented; both routes are correct, just with completely different styles.
