On February 3rd, notable developments were reported in the cryptocurrency market. According to BlockBeats, multiple concerns have emerged simultaneously, bringing the issue of project sustainability back into focus.

Transfer of 1.5 BTC from Inactive Projects—Alert Signal

Crypto influencer Sea_Bitcoin pointed out that 1.521212 BTC was transferred from the donation address of Atomicals Protocol. Notably, this project had nearly ceased all activity since 2024. Initially, Atomicals Protocol was regarded as a promising project with advanced technical capabilities. However, current fund movements are raising additional concerns.

Disappearance of Creator and Impact on Community

The situation worsened rapidly after the anonymous creator of the project, Arthur, disappeared. According to Sea_Bitcoin, such a scenario is considered a typical pattern of “gradual abandonment.” The most serious issue is that the project has not returned the donated BTC from the community, and the ambitious roadmap announced by the project has not been implemented.

Concerns Over Soft Rug Pulls—Lessons for Crypto Investors

These developments strongly evoke concerns about so-called “soft rug pulls.” As cases of projects gradually being abandoned increase, investors need to pay closer attention to multiple warning signs. The Atomicals Protocol case suggests that high technical evaluation alone does not guarantee the project’s sustainability.
