Sensata Appoints Stephan von Schuckmann as New Chief Executive Officer

Sensata Technologies, a publicly traded leader in automotive and industrial sensor solutions, has named Stephan von Schuckmann to lead the company as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. This appointment reflects the Board’s strategic decision to bring in executive talent with deep expertise in the evolving automotive landscape, particularly in the transition to electric mobility.

Executive Background in Automotive Leadership

Stephan von Schuckmann brings more than two decades of experience across the automotive and industrial sectors to the role. Prior to his appointment at Sensata, he served as a Member of the Board of Management at ZF Friedrichshafen AG, one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers. In this position, he held global leadership responsibility for ZF’s electric mobility division, the company’s largest business unit with annual revenue exceeding $12 billion. Beyond his role in advancing electrified powertrains, von Schuckmann also oversaw regional operations across Asia Pacific and managed the organization’s worldwide procurement strategy, demonstrating his capability to navigate complex, multi-faceted business environments.

Board’s Strategic Vision

Andrew Teich, Chairman of Sensata’s Board of Directors, expressed the board’s confidence in this selection. “Stephan’s extensive background in both conventional and electrified powertrains positions him ideally for Sensata’s future,” Teich stated. “His demonstrated ability to drive value creation, combined with his proven leadership across diverse geographies and functions, gives us confidence that he will successfully execute our strategic initiatives as the automotive industry continues its transformation.”

Alongside his CEO appointment, von Schuckmann will also join Sensata’s Board of Directors, aligning his leadership vision with the company’s governance structure and long-term strategy.
