These days I keep reminding myself to protect what pays me.
From my experience, not every profitable knowledge needs to be shared with everyone. Some information is valuable because it’s rare, and once it becomes crowded, the advantage slowly disappears. I’ve learned that your edge is part of your income, just like your time and effort. It’s not about being selfish, it’s about being strategic and understanding what to keep private and what to make public. I still share, I still contribute, but I’ve become more intentional. Because once your edge is gone, rebuilding it takes time. For me, protecting my edge means protecting my future opportunities. In this space, awareness isn’t enough. Discipline is what keeps you ahead.
