Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Badr announced on social media on the evening of the 26th that the third round of indirect talks between the United States and Iran held in Geneva, Switzerland, has concluded with “significant progress.”

Badr stated that after the representatives from both sides report to their respective governments, the negotiations will resume as soon as possible. “Technical discussions” are scheduled to take place next week in Vienna, Austria.

According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, the U.S. delegation had already left the negotiation site earlier.

Acting as a mediator, Oman reported that the third round of indirect talks between Iran and the U.S. experienced two phases on the same day, with a break of several hours in between. Axios news website quoted sources as saying that U.S. President Trump’s special envoy, Witkov, and his son-in-law Kushner, expressed “disappointment” with the information conveyed to Iran that morning.
