In the cryptocurrency market, the harshest lesson is neglecting the importance of stop-loss. I have seen too many traders who are so close to success but ultimately fail because of a simple idea: "Just wait a little longer, it has already dropped so much, a rebound must be just around the corner." When the price drops two or three percentage points, they always comfort themselves: give the market some time. After another five percentage points fall, they start convincing themselves again: the downtrend should be ending soon. However, the result often is witnessing their accounts gradually shift from profit to zero, and their emotions shift from resentment to complete numbness. What truly defeats them is not the market itself, but the obsession within that refuses to let go.
This is the most profound warning in the crypto world: traders who do not understand stop-loss will ultimately be ruthlessly liquidated by the market.
By observing experienced players who survive in a bear market, I found they share only one common trait — strong decisiveness. When the market trend fails to meet expectations, they withdraw without hesitation. They admit mistakes and reallocate. What’s the harm in paying some fees? Staying strong is key to waiting for the next opportunity.
Conversely, traders who always expect miraculous price rebounds tend to fall into the same trap over and over again. They keep thinking: "This time will definitely be different," only to repeat the same mistakes repeatedly.
The rules of the cryptocurrency market are actually very simple — the longer you delay your stop-loss, the larger your eventual loss will be.
I have made similar mistakes myself, holding onto losing positions in the hope that the market will rebound. But I later understood a principle: the market will not become more forgiving because of your hesitation.
Mature traders do not rely on prayer and luck, but depend on strict trading discipline to ensure survival.
Now, every time I open a position, my first consideration is the stop-loss level. Once the price breaks below the set limit, I exit immediately, even if I might miss the subsequent rebound; I will never hold on stubbornly to that trade.
Because I deeply understand: making one mistake can be reset, but if someone stubbornly insists on a wrong decision, it may lead to exiting the market.
Price drops itself are not scary; what is truly frightening is the unwillingness to admit that your judgment was wrong. #参与创作者认证计划月领$10,000
