Iranian Foreign Minister condemns U.S. attack on Iranian warship

Mars Finance reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said today (March 5) that the United States’ raid on an Iranian warship in international waters will “ultimately regret the precedent it has set.” Abdollahian stated on social media that the Iranian frigate is a “guest of the Indian Navy,” carrying about 130 people, and was attacked in international waters 2,000 miles (approximately 3,218 kilometers) off the Iranian coast without any prior warning. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on the 4th that U.S. submarines sank an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean on the 3rd with torpedoes, which was sailing in what it believed to be safe international waters.
