Crypto is entering a phase where users no longer need to care which blockchain an app runs on. Infrastructure is starting to handle the complexity behind the scenes, and Wanchain is one of the projects pushing that vision forward, powered by $WAN.

Wanchain has built a decentralized interoperability network connecting nearly 50 blockchains including Bitcoin, Tron, Cosmos, XRP, Polkadot, Cardano, and multiple EVM ecosystems. Instead of managing bridges or wrapped assets, users can move value across chains while the routing happens silently in the background.

The network has already processed over $1.6B in lifetime cross-chain volume and consistently sees $1M–$2M in daily activity. Even more impressive is its security record: more than 7 years of cross-chain operations with zero exploits.

Users can move assets across 40+ chains through WanBridge, perform native-to-native swaps across 20+ chains with XFlows, and bridge NFTs between ecosystems. Transfers can be completed in about 60 seconds using QUiX.

At the center of this system is $WAN. The token powers transactions on Wanchain L1, secures cross-chain bridges through collateral, and enables governance. Bridge fees are partially converted into WAN and burned through the Convert n Burn mechanism, which can reduce supply over time.

Wanchain also played a historic role in the industry. It coined the term “blockchain bridge” and built the first decentralized Bitcoin to Ethereum bridge back in 2018.

While competitors like $ATOM, $DOT, $LINK, $AXL, $RUNE, $BNB, $ICP, $NEAR and $SUI are active in interoperability, Wanchain focuses on connecting both EVM and non EVM ecosystems through one decentralized routing layer.

As crypto moves toward a post-chain experience where users simply interact with applications rather than blockchains, infrastructure like Wanchain could become increasingly important.
