the market feels dead and most people already left and I think about that a lot

I scroll through old group chats sometimes and half the names havent posted in over a year despite having good talent, skills & connections
I feel grateful im still here & enjoying what I do with people I love doing cool stuff with
I think I just got obsessed with learning how to actually run a business when everyone else was focused on making quick money during the 2021 & 2024 cycle. I also made every mistake in the book, I lost money & made more money than I could at my age
- overtrading during memecoin szn
- losing money not selling the top of nfts
- getting scammed by founders I used to work for
- working solo for too long instead of building a team
- etc
but every single one of those mistakes taught me something I needed to learn and wouldnt have learned any other way
the relationships that survived the last two years are the most real ones ive ever had.
I met my co-founder 5 years ago on a discord trading server & we never expected to be working together but hes one of my best mates now and im glad to be working alongside him across all the cool stuff were doing
my team is small but they actually give a shit. and the painful lessons from getting things wrong became the foundation we run everything on now. im genuinely grateful for all of it
the thing that has me locked in right now is what AI has opened doors for all of us
everybody has access to the same tools, which means most of the output looks identical. when you can generate anything instantly the only thing that separates you is taste and how you think about positioning and storytelling. thats always been what we cared about and suddenly it matters way more than it used to
if youre still here and still learning after everything thats happened, I think youre looking at a wider open field than weve ever had. but most people are too beat down to notice it right now, which I get. its been a long couple years
im not sure where exactly this all goes but I know im not slowing down anytime soon
