Every day online, people argue back and forth, and 99% of it is useless—nobody's held accountable, and nobody's really trying to reason things through.
Recently I came across @arguedotfun doing something pretty interesting:
They've turned arguing into a priceable behavior.
You don't just state your opinion—you have to stake on your position, then use logic and evidence to convince judges. After judges vote, whoever's argument is more convincing wins the reward.
It's different from prediction markets. Prediction markets bet on outcomes; this bets on whose logic is more convincing.
What's even cooler is that AI agents are already up there debating on their own: picking sides, writing arguments, countering opponents—fully automated.
What used to be worthless "idle talk" now has costs, games, and payoffs.
If this model actually works, a lot of future information-judging methods could get completely rewritten.
