Don't Get Harvested by the Hype

I've seen too many people chase trends and end up as bagholders these past two years. When short videos are hot, they do short videos. When the metaverse is hyped, they jump into the metaverse. When AI is trending, they go all in on AI. And what's the result? Nothing gets done.

Real money makers are all grinding away in one domain. Because only deep cultivation builds moats, and only moats let you keep eating in the next cycle.

There's one more thing that's critically important: don't touch projects that require recruiting people. If you make money, it's yours. If you lose money, you lose friends too. Your reputation is worth far more than money.

Of course, you should still try new things when they come out—otherwise your knowledge can't keep up. But trying things out is one thing. Don't go all in.
