"This is Kimi"! Musk Surges to Hot Search Trending Two Times Liking China's AI Company Moonshot AI
Tesla and xAI founder Elon Musk continue to praise Chinese domestic large models, sparking attention.
According to media reports, the globally renowned programming tool Cursor released its self-developed cutting-edge coding model Composer 2 early this morning on the 21st. It has attracted widespread industry attention for outperforming Claude Opus 4.6 in evaluations and emphasizing cost performance. However, some developers quickly discovered that Composer 2 is based on Kimi K2.5 fine-tuning, and Musk also posted on social media, saying, “Yes, this is Kimi K2.5.”
The Kimi team then responded with the popular Chinese meme, “I heard about me, thank you, because of you,” praised for “showing technical confidence with gentleness.”
On March 16, Kimi released the technical report “Attention Residuals,” reconstructing the residual connection mechanism of large models. Using the new “attention residual” method, it achieved a double improvement in training efficiency and core performance—training efficiency increased by 1.25 times on a 48B parameter model, with scientific reasoning and mathematical scores improving by 7.5% and 3.6%, respectively. This has been regarded by the industry as an important signal of “Deep Learning 2.0.”
In response, Musk immediately reposted and commented on the social platform X: “Impressive work from Kimi.” The Kimi official account humorously replied, “Your rocket building is also pretty good!”
Previously, Musk had also repeatedly praised Chinese domestic models on social media and in public.
On March 2, Alibaba’s Qianwen officially open-sourced four small models: Qwen3.5-0.8B, 2B, 4B, and 9B. Musk directly commented under the official Qwen X post: “Impressive intelligence density.”
Additionally, ByteDance’s next-generation video generation large model Seedance 2.0 began internal testing on February 12. With a unified multimodal audio-visual joint generation architecture supporting text, image, audio, and video inputs, it addresses industry pain points such as low usability of AI video generation and character detail drift, capable of generating up to 60 seconds of 2K broadcast-quality videos. Musk later reposted the related tweet and remarked, “It’s happening fast.”
