No more restraint, Trump threatens to plunge Iran into "darkness" if it doesn't open the Strait of Hormuz within the next 48 hours.
Donald Trump continues to make hardline statements regarding Iran, making the situation unpredictable.
He warned that if Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, the US will carry out attacks and destroy power plants, starting with the largest facility. However, his statements appear somewhat inconsistent as he previously stated Iran wants to reach a deal, but the US side is not interested.
Not only that, he also asserted that the US bombing campaign has completed its objectives "many weeks ahead of schedule," while emphasizing that the strikes have significantly weakened Iran.
A day earlier, when responding to press at the White House, Trump also downplayed the possibility of achieving a ceasefire. He stated: "We can have a dialogue, but you know, I don't want a ceasefire."
These contradictory statements are making it difficult for observers to clearly determine the US's next direction toward Iran.
