Trump accepts ceasefire with Iran, cryptocurrencies surge

Trump: Agreement has been reached on almost all past points of contention between the US and Iran.

Trump: We are very far from a definitive agreement on long-term peace with Iran.

Trump: The ceasefire is contingent on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. I accept the ceasefire.

Trump announced his acceptance of the two-week ceasefire just over an hour before the deadline. At the same time, Israel announced they had detected missiles from Iran. For now, it appears that the two-week ceasefire proposed by Pakistan (in the last few hours) "to advance negotiations" has been accepted.

Trump accepted the two-week ceasefire proposal. Presumably, Iran also accepted it, which is why Trump is officially announcing the ceasefire. The last-minute announcement, coming less than two hours before the deadline, is not surprising given the rising oil prices and the global impact of the protracted war.

According to this, Iran will open the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks, and the 10-point proposal will be negotiated with the US to make the ceasefire permanent. With the midterm elections just months away, Trump has little time left to revive the economy.

In a statement made minutes ago, Trump wrote the following:
“Following my discussions with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Asim Munir, they requested that I halt the destructive force to be sent to Iran tonight; I agree to suspend bombing and attacks against Iran for a period of two weeks, on the condition that Iran agrees to the FULL, IMMEDIATE and SAFE opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

This will be a bilateral CEASEFIRE! This is because we have already achieved and exceeded all our military objectives and are very close to a definitive Agreement on long-term PEACE with Iran and PEACE in the Middle East.

We have received a 10-point proposal from Iran, and we believe it is a viable basis for negotiation. Agreement has been reached between the United States and Iran on almost all points of past disputes, but a two-week period will allow for the finalization and completion of the agreement.

As the President of the United States and also representing the countries of the Middle East, it is an honor for me to see this long-standing issue so close to resolution. Thank you for your interest in this matter!”
We experienced a process similar, though longer, to last year's 12-day war. Although the parties seemed reluctant until the last minute, an agreement was eventually reached. BTC could rise to $75,000 when the opening of the Strait of Hormuz is officially confirmed.

But what about oil? It quickly lost $107 and then $103. There is potential for further declines to $93 in the coming hours. BTC rose to $71,298 on the daily chart. Just a moment ago, Israel also announced its acceptance of the temporary ceasefire.
