Billions lost after ‎$ZRO

Investing basics
Because repetition may teach the clever

When you assess a project and make an investment decision
Or even a much simpler decision—anything in life
Even a restaurant you want to have dinner or lunch at
You’re always facing possibilities and risks

The restaurant might turn out bad
Your personal experience might be bad
And your assessment of it might actually be weak, because you don’t understand food
All of that is entirely possible

Investing follows exactly the same principle
There are risks
There are problems
And any project in the world will face difficulties and challenges—this isn’t something exceptional; it’s the nature of business and life

So the real thing you need to master as a person whom God has honored with a mind

Is this:
- Evaluate matters objectively
- Stay away from excessive philosophy and talking about things you don’t understand
- Stay away from arrogance and deal with things rationally and credibly
- Don’t sit in the council of the advisor and the theorist when you’re fundamentally ignorant of the subject
- Learn first, then speak
- Avoid stirring up controversy just for the sake of controversy, and avoid blind fanaticism

As for ‎$ZRO
, in all calmness I dealt with the matter through a set of very obvious questions that anyone should ask before getting swept up in the tide

Was the project itself hacked?
No

Did all layers of protection collapse and turn into a widespread breach that destroyed everything?
No

Was the infrastructure itself affected, and was what was built over the past years demolished?
No

Did the price fall and get affected?
Yes
And it was clearly affected due to a large wave of attacks and hype—much of it built on ignorance and a lack of precise understanding of what actually happened

Does this price action create an exceptional entry opportunity?
Based on all the information available to me
Yes

Did you add new cash and increase your quantities?
Yes

And most importantly, I’m ready to lose everything, but I won’t lose my credibility—and I fully understand the size of the risk

And also, in investing, you won’t profit from the number of imaginary problems you created on Twitter, nor from harassing people who share their opinions, nor from loud voices
And the agitation or hype—rather, from understanding and calmness
Your ability to distinguish between the real problem and empty talk
