ME News, April 22 (UTC+8): Federal Reserve Chair nominee Kevin Woorh said, “I am deeply honored to receive the president’s nomination. If I am ultimately appointed as Federal Reserve Chair, I will become an independent decision-maker.” Woorh said in response to a question raised by Louisiana Senator John Kennedy that he would never become the president’s “puppet.” Woorh also said that Trump did not ask him to make commitments regarding certain interest-rate decisions. Woorh said, “The president has never asked me to make commitments on any specific interest-rate decisions—no doubt about that. And even if he were to ask, I would never agree.” (Source: Jin10)
