Lately, with airdrop season and all kinds of points tasks making it feel like clocking in to work, I might as well go slower… LST/re-staking—if I’m being honest, the biggest chunk of the yield still comes from the idea that “someone is willing to pay for your liquidity/security,” plus a little “sugar” in the form of subsidies from new projects. The sugar tastes sweet, but don’t forget: the sugar can run out too.
As for the risks, they’re pretty straightforward: the volatility of the underlying staking layer plus the contract risk of the protocol layer, then stack another layer of “re-staking on top of re-staking.” It looks like you’re taking home extra pay, but in reality you might just be carrying extra baggage. Anyway, I do the same when I’m buying—first I figure out the versioning terms, and when it comes to chasing returns, it’s the same too: slow down, think through where the money is coming from and—if something happens—who’s responsible for the fallout, then only after that, confirm.
