According to a report by Jinse Finance, on December 4, QCP Capital, a Singaporean investment firm in Crypto Assets, stated that the old-timer Cryptocurrency that has existed since 2021 has staged a spectacular Rebound in the past two weeks. XRP broke through the 2021 high of $2, with an amazing increase of 400% since November, reaching a peak of $2.90. Other old-timer Cryptocurrencies such as ADA, HBAR, and XLM have also realized increases of 300%, 800%, and 600% respectively.
QCP Capital stated that the reason for the frenzy in the AltCoin market is due to Trump's proposal in November to eliminate capital gains tax for Cryptocurrency issuance by US companies. Additionally, the anticipation of a crypto-friendly US cabinet further fueled this craze. Rumor has it that Gary Gensler, who has long been a headache for the Cryptocurrency community, will be replaced by Paul Atkins to lead the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Other candidates also seem to have a friendly attitude towards Cryptocurrency. Howard Lutnick, currently the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, is set to become the Secretary of Commerce. Cantor Fitzgerald is currently in negotiations with Tether, making Lutnick appear to be a supporter of Cryptocurrency.
QCP Capital pointed out that the martial law imposed by South Korea has hardly dampened the market's frenzy. After the news of the martial law broke, South Korean traders reduced their positions, causing BTC to fall to a low of 93500. However, the subsequent buybacks in major Cryptocurrencies and AltCoins only indicate how strong the market's buying interest is. 'We have indeed seen some macro risks recently. Concerns about Inflation resurfacing have led the market to reduce its expectations for the number of US rate cuts in 2025 to only 3 times. There are also geopolitical risks brought by Trump's actions towards Mexico, Canada, and the BRICS countries. Despite these risks, we believe that the Cryptocurrency market still has the potential to rise. Trump's team is likely to formulate Cryptocurrency-friendly policies, attracting more interest from institutional investors. It is possible for BTC to break through the $100,000 mark, while ETH hitting a new all-time high seems more like an imminent reality than a dream.'
