Seminar on Trump's White House digital currency:
As President of the United States, Donald Trump is preparing to host the White House's first-ever digital currency summit on March 7, Sunday. The industry is closely watching to see who will be invited.
A round table, scheduled to take place between 18:30 and 22:30, is expected to have more than 25 participants, including members of the 'Presidential Working Group on Digital Assets,' according to Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett.
On Wednesday morning, Terrett reported that there were 11 executives from the digital currency family and 2 representatives from the White House confirming their attendance.
"It's not clear at the moment who else will join besides Bo Hines and David Sacks, but if you look back at Trump's instructions, the government team also includes fund secretary Scott Bassett, commerce secretary Howard Latnick, the highest attorney rate Pam Bondi, SEC chairman, CFTC chairman, and others." Even though Terrett's name is not included, Ripple's top executive, Brad Garlinghouse, mentioned him in a post on March 2. Shortly after, the SEC, which is responsible for digital currency, announced a seminar on March 1.
"I will continue to support it while I'm in Washington in the final week of this week," Garlinghouse wrote
According to Terrett, the invitation from Trump was sent via email to participants on the afternoon of March 4, which means that Garlinghouse was one of the first executives to receive an advance invitation.
The translation of this text is planned for those who are not invited.
"The larger welcome is for the invitees only, planning to cross the street from the address of the government's residence for those not invited to the roundtable meeting," Mr. Thered added that the plan is not yet complete and things may change.
While discussions about the meeting are still ongoing, the crypto community is calling for the inclusion of other key figures in the industry, such as ARK Invest's founder, Cathie Wood, Ethereum's co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, Circle's co-founder, Jeremy Allaire, Tether's Chief Officer, Paolo Ardoino, Cardano's founder, Charles Hoskinson, and Solana's founder, Anatoly Yakovenko.
