The Pi Network (PI) offers Two-Factor Authentication – Here’s how to secure your account.
Date: Wednesday, March 19, 2025 | 04:04 AM GMT After a successful debut with the open main network last month, the Pi (PI) network is actively expanding the usefulness and security of its platform. On Pi Day, the network introduced .pi domains, allowing users to bid on unique .pi domain names using Pi tokens. Now, in another step toward securing users' assets, the Pi Network has launched an important security update – two-factor authentication (2FA) – to enhance account protection and ensure a smooth transition to the home network. Pi Network Launches Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) On March 13, the Pi Network introduced a two-factor authentication feature (2FA) that requires some patrons to complete 2FA before their Pi tokens can be successfully transferred to the Mainnet blockchain. This additional layer of security confirms ownership of Pi wallets by verifying a trusted email address, increasing the security of Pi pioneer accounts and holdings. How to secure your Pi network account with two-factor authentication (2FA) Some pioneers may already have a trusted email address associated with their account, allowing them to complete the 2FA process and confirm their immigration portfolio. However, others may need to set up a reliable email before moving forward. Steps to set up 2FA on a Pi network: Set up a trusted email If you haven't already, you must provide a trusted email address by completing a life check to verify that you are the account owner. You will receive a notification in the Pi mining app to complete this step. Only pioneers whose identity has been verified via KYC ( including those with a temporary KYC ) are eligible to add a trusted email at this time. Confirm your immigration portfolio Once a reliable email is added, pioneers will gradually receive alerts after mining sessions or via email notifications to complete two-factor verification. Alternatively, pioneers can confirm the migration of their wallet via the Mainnet checklist in the app. Check via emailIn the two-factor authentication interface (2FA), Pioneers must confirm access to their migration wallet (or create a new wallet if necessary). They will receive another email to confirm this confirmation.
