Introducing the Gate Alpha Points System
As the Web3 ecosystem rapidly evolves, opportunities to get involved in high-potential projects can appear and disappear in an instant. To boost user efficiency and transparency when accessing early-stage projects, Gate has launched the all-new Alpha Points System, which serves as a critical eligibility standard for joining airdrops and token generation events (TGEs) across the platform. Since its launch on July 29, 2025, this points system has quickly become a centerpiece for active users and has brought added competition and opportunity to the Alpha section.
How Gate Alpha Points Are Earned
Alpha Points are awarded based on a comprehensive assessment of your on-chain and off-chain activities on Gate. Points are calculated across three main categories:
1. Balance Points: Based on Asset Holdings
A daily snapshot of your holdings is taken and converted to USD equivalent, which is then entered into the points system. Only tokens listed on Gate's Spot Market and Alpha Zone Trading Tokens count; other non-tradable tokens are excluded.
2. Trading Points: Based on Purchase Amount
Only “buy” transactions made in the Gate Alpha Selected Zone are eligible for points:
For your first daily transaction of at least 2 USDT, you’ll receive 1 point.
For each doubling of the transaction amount, you earn an extra point (e.g., 4 USDT = 2 points, 8 USDT = 3 points).
This structure incentivizes users to support high-potential projects and boost their own participation status.
3. Activity Points: Earn Additional Rewards Through Special Events
Certain TGE or exclusive Alpha activities offer extra points as rewards, with criteria announced for each event. This means point accumulation is not limited to holdings or trading alone. Active engagement and timing are also critical factors.
How the Gate Alpha Points System Works
To ensure fairness and transparency, the platform takes snapshots of all asset and trading data daily at 07:59:59 (UTC+8), then updates your total points for the past 15 days by 14:00 that day.
Example: If you complete a trade at 7:30 AM on April 23, that trade will be counted toward your April 22 points.
Expanded Use Cases for Alpha Points
Alpha Points are more than just a participation metric—they’re your ticket to the Gate ecosystem. Your Alpha Points determine your eligibility for TGEs, Alpha Airdrops, time-limited missions, and more. The higher your points, the higher your priority for allocations in early-stage, high-potential projects, and the better your chances of early access to special token airdrops. Multiple Alpha Airdrops campaigns are currently active—the sooner you join, the greater your rewards! This approach not only raises the bar for participation but also ensures that incentives go directly to the most engaged, genuine users.
