(MENAFN- Amman Net) King Abdullah II of Jordan said that Jordan will not tolerate any breach of its airspace and will not be turned into a theater of military confrontation, stressing that the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its citizens remain an absolute priority.

The remarks came during a meeting with members of the council of the Jordan Press Association, where a range of domestic and regional issues were discussed.

On Tuesday, King Abdullah II called for pursuing political solutions to the Iranian file, ahead of anticipated talks between Iran and the United States, and at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump had threatened potential strikes against Iran.

The meeting also addressed several local and regional developments. The King underscored the importance of the association’s role in strengthening media professionalism, emphasizing that the national interest must remain the guiding compass of political and media discourse, particularly amid rapid regional and global shifts.

On the economic front, he urged continued implementation of major national projects, improving the investment climate, and upgrading public services in ways that directly enhance citizens’ quality of life and boost economic growth. He also highlighted Jordan’s efforts to leverage its strong ties with friendly nations to open new markets for Jordanian products, especially in East Asia, and to attract further investment opportunities.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, the King reaffirmed Jordan’s ongoing coordination with regional partners and the international community to safeguard Palestinian rights and halt Israeli measures aimed at altering the status quo in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

He also stressed the need to support Syria’s efforts to preserve its security, stability, and territorial sovereignty.
