If you encounter any of the following situations:

Scenario 1: Forgot your payment password or cloud backup password, but still have your seed phrase or private key

You can reset your wallet and then re-import your seed phrase or private key to restore it.
Before resetting, please make sure you have already backed up your seed phrase or private key for this wallet.

Scenario 2: Forgot your lock password and cannot access your wallet

You can unlock your wallet by resetting your payment password on Gate, then entering the new password on the wallet lock screen.

Scenario 3: Forgot your payment password or cloud backup password and do not have a backup seed phrase or private key

Due to the nature of Web3 technology, if you haven't backed up your seed phrase and have also forgotten your payment or cloud backup password, your wallet cannot be recovered.

Notes

Your wallet's seed phrase and private key are critical for accessing and using your wallet. Please make sure to back them up and keep them in a safe place. If they are lost, forgotten, or not backed up, you will not be able to recover your assets. Anyone with access to your wallet's seed phrase or private key can transfer your assets.

We strongly recommend backing up your seed phrase and private key when creating your wallet and storing them securely. After creating your wallet, use Gate cloud backup to quickly restore it when switching devices and minimize the risk of losing access to your wallet.
