According to a recent announcement, a leading cryptocurrency exchange unveiled the Agent Payments Protocol on April 29, an open standard enabling artificial intelligence agents to execute full business transactions across multiple blockchain networks without human intervention. The protocol manages the complete transaction lifecycle, including pricing, negotiation, escrow, settlement, and dispute handling—beyond simple transfers.
The protocol operates across multiple chains, with Solana and Ethereum as key networks in the initial rollout. Major partners including Amazon Web Services, Alibaba Cloud, Uniswap, Paxos, and QuickNode have pledged support, alongside blockchain ecosystems including the Ethereum Foundation, Solana, Base, Sui, Aptos, and Optimism.
