Somnia (SOMI)-- A GEM THAT COMBINES WEB3 AND MERAVERSE

Somnia is one of the projects built in 2024 through the Virtual Society Foundation (VSF) with development support from Improbable, a venture building firm with a strong track record in creating transformative solutions in the decentralized AI and Metaverse sectors.

Unlike most blockchains that focus on DeFi, Somnia is designed as a Layer 1 blockchain capable of supporting large-scale real-time applications such as metaverse platforms, on-chain games, and decentralized social networks.

Somnia adopts Multistream Consensus along with various architectural innovations that are claimed to provide performance far superior to other blockchain networks. In initial trials, Somnia recorded a speed of 1.05 million TPS with 100 nodes distributed globally. This figure clearly far exceeds Ethereum ('s approximately 15 TPS ) and Solana ('s theoretical up to 65,000 TPS ).

Somnia is built to remain friendly for developers. As an EVM-compatible network, developers can easily migrate their applications from the EVM ecosystem to Somnia without needing to rebuild from scratch. This opens up opportunities for accelerated adoption while strengthening Somnia's appeal as a preferred network for large-scale applications.
