Kevin O'Leary: Building Wealth Starts with Financial Discipline, Not Income Growth… Investing 10% of Income in Your Twenties Could Reach $1 Million by Retirement

Canadian investor Kevin O'Leary, one of the stars of Shark Tank, said that building wealth begins with financial discipline rather than income growth, emphasizing the importance of investing 10% of any money a person receives, whether it's salary, a gift, or income from a side job.

In an interview with CNBC, he explained that turning saving and investing into a consistent habit from an early age can lead to substantial wealth over the long term thanks to compound returns. He pointed out that those who start investing 10% of their income in their twenties could reach more than $1 million by retirement age.

O'Leary criticized excuses related to high expenses, considering that many people spend their money on unnecessary items that can be reduced, such as small daily purchases, which allows for directing a larger portion of income toward investing.
