According to a report on Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao website on March 10, U.S. President Trump sent mixed signals about how long the war between the United States, Israel, and Iran will last.

On the same day, he first hinted that the war might end soon, but a few hours later, he stated that the U.S. “has not achieved enough victories” and that his goal is to win the “ultimate victory.”

Reportedly, on the afternoon of March 9, Trump told CBS in an interview that the war is “very close to being over,” and also said, “We are well ahead of schedule.”

Trump said he believes the fighting against Iran has been “very thorough,” and claimed that Iran now “has no navy, no communication facilities, no air force, missiles are running out, drones have been destroyed, including their drone manufacturing plants,” adding, “From a military perspective, they have nothing left.”

The report states that after these remarks were broadcast, market concerns about a prolonged war seemed to ease. The three major U.S. stock indexes in New York rose in response, and oil prices fell.

However, after the market closed, Trump spoke at a Republican congressional gathering in Florida, saying the U.S. still has more work to do.

Trump told Republican lawmakers: “We have achieved victories in many areas, but it’s not enough. We will continue to push forward more determined than ever to achieve final victory and put an end to this long-standing crisis… We will not relax until our enemies are completely and decisively defeated.”

On the evening of the 9th, at a press conference in Miami, Florida, Trump again warned that if Iranian leaders attempt to cut off global energy supplies, the U.S. will take more aggressive action. He said, “We will strike them hard enough that they or anyone helping them will never be able to recover that region.”
