Jia Guolong Shifts to Selling Claypot Braised Noodles from Hometown: Average Consumption Lower Than Xibei, Only Costs 40-50 Yuan
Kua Technology, March 19 — According to media reports, recently, Xi Bei founder and chairman Jia Guolong has launched a new entrepreneurial project.
This new shop, called Tianbian Clay Pot, is located in Beijing’s 798 Art District, specializing in the clay pot braised noodles characteristic of his hometown, Bamei.
In terms of dishes, the new store still has close ties to Xi Bei. Its signature dishes—clay pot braised noodles, gluten, pork ribs with sauerkraut—were all once on Xi Bei’s menu, and the flavors are quite similar.
However, data shows that since opening, the average spending per person at the new store has been around 40-50 yuan, which is lower than Xi Bei’s.
Jia Guolong stated that because there are more people drinking on the second floor on weekend nights, the average bill is slightly higher.
During regular days, most customers dine here for about thirty yuan per person, and fifty to sixty yuan per person is enough for a good meal.
It is worth noting that after Xi Bei faced public criticism over issues like “high prices” and “pre-made dishes,” Jia Guolong has taken advice.
The first floor of this new store features an open kitchen design, making the entire food preparation process transparent. Customers can clearly see the chefs making braised noodles and preparing the broth.
