Beijing service robot output grew over 90% year-on-year in the first two months of this year

Beijing, March 17 — Data released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics show that in the first two months of this year, the added value of above-scale high-tech manufacturing and strategic emerging industries in Beijing increased by 17.6% and 16.5% year-on-year, respectively (with some overlap). The production of wind turbines, service robots, new energy vehicles, and integrated circuits grew by 1.3 times, 90.8%, 23.2%, and 13.1%, respectively.
Beijing’s industrial growth is rapid, with notable contributions from the electronics sector. In the first two months, the added value of above-scale industries in Beijing increased by 6.7% at comparable prices. Among key industries, computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing grew by 27.4%. The demand in the integrated circuit sector remains strong, with rapid production growth.
Fixed asset investment in Beijing remains stable. In the first two months, fixed asset investment (excluding rural households) increased by 4.1%. Looking at industries, investment in the primary industry declined by 7.7%; secondary industry investment grew by 31.6%, driven by high-tech manufacturing projects in electronics, automobiles, and commercial aerospace, which increased by 36%; tertiary industry investment grew by 0.5%. Specifically, leasing and business services, scientific research and technical services, and transportation, warehousing, and postal services increased by 2.2 times, 23.4%, and 13%, respectively.
Beijing’s consumer market continues to recover. In the first two months, emerging consumption gradually became a new engine for growth. Retail sales through online platforms of convenience stores, supermarkets, and warehouse membership stores above a certain scale increased by 4.4%. Consumer sentiment is a new trend, with related products performing well. For example, trendy toys and cultural creative products are highly popular, and retail sales of monitored related products nearly doubled. (End)
