On the 10th local time, Toronto police said that the U.S. Consulate General in Toronto was shot at early in the morning, with no reports of injuries. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said they are increasing security at U.S. and Israeli consulates and embassies. Police said they received a report around 5:30 a.m. that someone had opened fire at the U.S. Consulate in downtown Toronto. When officers arrived, they found shell casings and damage to the building. There are no specific suspects at this time. Canadian Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree said the shooting was absolutely unacceptable and that Canada does not tolerate any form of intimidation or violence. RCMP Commissioner Chris Lethbridge said at a press conference that the police are investigating the shooting as a “national security incident,” but it is too early to determine the motive. Authorities are strengthening security at the U.S. and Israeli embassies in Ottawa and the U.S.-Israeli consulate in Toronto. (CCTV News)
