In response to U.S. President Trump’s threat to target “various power plants” in Iran, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Gharibabadi, stated on the 22nd local time that open threats against energy and infrastructure violate international law.

Gharibabadi said that any attack on Iran’s critical infrastructure will be met with appropriate retaliation. Any further escalation will hold the initiator fully legally responsible and bear all consequences arising from it.

Previously, U.S. President Trump posted on social media demanding Iran open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, or else launch strikes and destroy “various power plants” in Iran. (CCTV Reporter: Li Jiannan, Zhao Yuanfang)
