Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Russian media on the 21st that the United States is attempting to dominate the global energy market at all costs. Lavrov stated that from Venezuela to Iran, the U.S. has used coups, kidnappings, and even assassinations of national leaders. All of this is related to oil, as the U.S. seeks to establish dominance in the global energy market. Lavrov also said that the principle the U.S. follows is that its own interests take precedence over any international agreements. The U.S. has historically and currently wanted to see Russia marginalized in the European energy market. If the U.S. wants to cooperate with Russia, it needs to respect Russia’s interests. (Xinhua)
