Ukraine will receive American liquefied natural gas for the first time via a Lithuanian port.

Ukrainian National Oil and Gas Company announced on its official website on the 26th that Ukraine will receive American liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the first time via the Klaipėda port in Lithuania. The statement said that the Ukrainian National Oil and Gas Company is cooperating with Lithuania’s Ignitis Group to receive 90 million cubic meters of U.S. LNG through Klaipėda port between February and March this year. Ukrainian Energy Minister Shmyhal stated that, given Russia’s nearly daily attacks on Ukraine’s energy and gas infrastructure, diversifying energy supply routes and strengthening energy security are crucial.
