Ministry of Commerce: Continue to effectively leverage the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism and strengthen dialogue and communication

The Ministry of Commerce held its routine press conference on March 19. When answering questions about China-U.S. Paris economic and trade consultations, spokesperson He Yongqian said that both sides, guided by the important consensus between the Chinese and U.S. heads of state, engaged in honest, in-depth, and constructive exchanges on issues of mutual concern such as tariff arrangements, promoting bilateral trade and investment, and maintaining existing consultation consensus. They reached some new common understandings and will continue to maintain consultations. Both sides agreed to explore the establishment of a working mechanism to expand economic and trade cooperation, continue to leverage the role of the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism, strengthen dialogue and communication, properly manage differences, expand practical cooperation, and promote the sustained and stable development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
