Efficiency of Cross-Border Traffic Significantly Improved Since the Launch of the "Integrated One-Stop" Lane at Hengqin Port
Source: China News Service
Zhuhai, March 17 — The Zhuhai Immigration Inspection General Station’s Hengqin Immigration Inspection Station announced on the 17th that the “Joint One-Stop” vehicle lane at Hengqin Port will celebrate its two-year anniversary of full operation on the 18th. As of the 17th, relying on the nation’s first innovative model of “cooperative inspection and single-pass clearance” for vehicles, the station has continuously optimized customs clearance services and improved inspection efficiency, with a total of 6.37 million inbound and outbound vehicle inspections, an 89% increase year-on-year. Among them, single-plate Macau vehicles exceeded 4.2 million, accounting for 65.9% of the total traffic, making them the main cross-border vehicle flow between Qin and Macau.
It is understood that as a key customs clearance hub connecting Qin and Macau, the “Joint One-Stop” lane integrates resources from five inspection units in Guangdong and Macau, simplifying the original “two places, two inspections” process into a model of “single queue, centralized collection, coordinated release,” allowing one lane to inspect and clear two vehicles simultaneously. The clearance time per vehicle has been reduced from 8 minutes to under 100 seconds, with the fastest taking only 50 seconds to complete inspection procedures in both locations, making cross-border travel more efficient and convenient.
The daily vehicle flow at Hengqin Port has increased from 5,500 vehicles at the initial stage of operation to 12,000 vehicles this year, injecting strong momentum into the deep integration and development of Qin and Macau. During this period, the daily vehicle flow has reached a new high of 20 times, with the highest recorded on February 11, 2026, at 13,400 vehicles, fully meeting the cross-border traffic demand between Qin and Macau.
Additionally, since the launch of the vehicle personnel inspection hall at Hengqin Port on April 9, 2024, over 3.92 million inbound and outbound personnel have been inspected, forming an efficient complement to vehicle inspection, ensuring smooth flow of personnel elements between Qin and Macau.
“In recent years, Hengqin Border Inspection Station has continuously deepened smart port construction, promoting the full deployment of 64 cooperative intelligent and rapid channels, achieving ‘face recognition’ contactless clearance, turning the vision of a ‘half-hour living circle’ in Qin and Macau into reality,” said Huang Yiting, deputy team leader of the first duty team at Hengqin Border Inspection Station. The next step will be to further deepen collaboration with relevant units in Guangdong and Macau, accelerate the full deployment of vehicle intelligent inspection channels, continuously optimize inspection procedures, and improve service quality, providing solid border inspection support for the efficient flow of elements between Qin and Macau and building a new high-level platform for opening up to the outside world.
