Nvidia CEO to Unveil New Chips and Software at AI Summit GTC
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will detail the company’s hardware and software plans at the annual developer conference in San Jose, California, on Monday.
In the keynote speech held in a stadium that can seat over 18,000 people, Jensen Huang is expected to explain how this leading AI chip manufacturer is adapting to the rapidly changing AI industry landscape.
As a company with a market value exceeding $4.3 trillion and the highest market capitalization globally, NVIDIA is expected to unveil in detail its next-generation AI chip named Feynman, after American physicist Richard Feynman, during the four-day conference. Huang may also discuss data centers, NVIDIA’s chip programming software CUDA, AI digital assistants, and physical AI like robots.
Another focus could be Groq. This chip startup was acquired by NVIDIA in December last year through a technology licensing deal worth $17 billion. Groq specializes in high-speed, low-cost AI inference computing, enabling AI models to answer questions or make predictions in real-time using learned knowledge.
In recent years, companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta (Facebook’s parent company) have invested billions of dollars in training AI model chips, and are now shifting toward serving hundreds of millions of users of these AI systems.
Compared to AI training chips, NVIDIA faces more intense competition in the inference chip market. Analysts expect the company to strengthen its defenses against competitors trying to regain market share that NVIDIA has captured in recent years.
Despite increasing competition—some competitors are even NVIDIA’s own customers developing their own chips—NVIDIA remains at the core of the global AI ecosystem.
Countries like Saudi Arabia are using NVIDIA chips to develop customized AI systems for their users. Additionally, NVIDIA is one of the few large American companies still actively releasing open-source AI software, a field where competition between China and the US is becoming increasingly fierce.
