A report released on Tuesday shows that in 2024, South Korea will lead the global export market in 81 products, including memory chips, solid-state drives (SSDs), and masks.

The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) reported that South Korea’s 81 products account for the largest share of global exports in their respective categories.

China holds the largest market share in exports for 2,087 products, ranking first. Following are Germany (520 products), the United States (505 products), Italy (199 products), and India (156 products).

KITA stated that South Korea also ranks second to tenth in export market share for 19 other products. The association noted that South Korea may increase the number of products it leads globally in the future.

In 2024, South Korea’s top export products include memory chips, power transformers, solid-state drives, lead-acid starter batteries for automobiles, rubber for automotive parts, and sheet masks.

KITA also highlighted that, for the first time in five years, South Korea reclaimed the top spot in memory chip exports from China in 2024, thanks to strong demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and other advanced products produced by Korean companies.
